A splendid film made up mostly of original footage shot in the Antarctic during Captain Robert Falcon Scott's heroic but doomed attempt to be the first man to the Sout Pole in his 1910-1911 expedition. The narration is by Herbert Ponting, an expedition member, and the film makes gripping viewing. Spectacular ice castles, rugby with penguins, feeding sealmeat to the huskies, etc. all filmed in black-and-white of course but in the Antarctic not much is lost ! 90 mins. approx. VHS PAL.
