Dyneema Racing is a proven versatile line, excellent as a low stretch halyard, a sheet with added strength and a reliable control line for consistent sail trim calibration.
Additional information
New Profile Cover Dyneema Racing features a new smoother profile cover reducing wear on both rope and blocks. Less line friction gives faster running through deck gear assisting slick sail changes and boat manoeuvres.
Reducing weight Size for size Dyneema Racing is the lightest of the technical fibres and offers itself for further weight reductions of around 65% by tapering or removing the cover. For some, the ability to reduce weight even more, without compromising strength, stretch and risk of failure is becoming more important. Crew weight restrictions under revised racing rules means that rail fodder is no longer the only option in reducing the angle of heel and therefore weight lost aloft can contribute seriously to upwind performance. Dyneema is both UV stable and has an abrasion resistance better than polyester. This means that stripping the cover does not jeopardise the wear characteristics, but you will need to retain the cover for handling and around winches. This tapering principle also applies to spinnaker sheets giving less weight at the clew and letting the spinnaker fly higher and faster.
Racing applications Dyneema Racing is a highly versatile line that can be used in all racing applications.
Cruising applications Ideal for all applications especially where the ability to reduce diameter provides easier and lighter rope handling for short handed sailing or family cruising.
