Applications The TC 665 is a lightweight two-man aluminium transport chamber designed for the administration of emergency on-site recompression treatments and for transporting divers under pressure to larger treatment chambers. It is also fully transportable by helicopter or fixed-wing aircraft. An attendant sits in the vertical section of the chamber and a removable rail-mounted stretcher is provided in the horizontal section for the recumbent patient, allowing the attendant access to the patient's head and torso for the administration of basic life support.
Three large-diameter viewports are provided for observing the occupants and a medical lock with safety interlock allows small medical and personal items to be passed in and out of the chamber. A NATO bayonet flange is installed at the manway end for transferring the diver under pressure into a treatment chamber. The TC 665 is equipped with onboard air, oxygen and power supplies. For therapeutic treatments or extended transport applications, connection points for external auxiliary supplies are provided for supplementing the onboard supplies. It can also be operated from conventional scuba cylinders. A safety feature built into the chamber is a permanent ventilation system which reduces oxygen and carbon dioxide build-up inside the chamber, while a sampling system allows the chamber atmosphere to be monitored for oxygen and carbon dioxide content. An optional non-magnetic version, the Type TC 665-MCM Transport Chamber, is also available for use aboard mine countermeasure vessels.
