The main difference when buying is whether or not a container is “plated”. This refers to the CSC plate which states that the container is in condition to travel by sea. Without a plate you cannot move the container by ship or plane. A CSC plate is valid for up to 5 years.
There are 3 options:
Buy an old un-plated container:
These are wind and watertight but will no longer have a CSC plate or possibly have a plate that is about to expire – price guide approx. $2000 for a 20ft and $2500 for 40ft. Note you will not be able to transport the container by sea or air.
Buy a new/used plated container:
These are plated and we can arrange delivery/collection just about anywhere. Price guide $2200 for 20ft and $2700 for 40ft
Rent a container
1. Point to point. We can arrange a package of a week to fill the container, transport point to point and week to empty it. You can extend this time but will be charged for rental of the container.
2. Long-term rental. We can deliver a container to wherever you need it. You keep it for as long as you need and we can move it for you.
Cost $60 per week (or part week), min 30 days. Plus off-hire survey cost in the country of destination.
All the above prices are for the container itself and exclude shipping costs, insurance, tax etc.
Full (Fill and ship)
We can rent a container there, half fill it with products, ship it somewhere else fill it with more products then ship it where you need it! We’ll handle the shipping and customs.
